Orlando, Fla., November 28, 2006 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract by J.F. Taylor, Inc. to provide pC-NOVA image generators and databases for the CH-53E Super Stallion WST to be located at MCAS New River, Norfolk, VA, with an option for a second WST located at MCAS Miramar. J. F. Taylor was awarded the CH-53E WST contract to upgrade the trainers’ visual systems under NAVAIR’s Training System Contract II (TSC II).
Aechelon Technology will provide its pC-NOVA v3.5 image generators (IGs), which will be integrated with the host computer using the CIGI 3.1 interface, and will render Navy Portable Source Initiative databases and models published by Aechelon Technology.
The pC-NOVA IGs will display six channels of OTW visual or stimulated NVG, and two FLIR channels for the AN/AAQ-29A FLIR. The pC-NOVA system features Aechelon Technology’s pC-NOVA software-based runtime engine for flight training applications and C-RADIANT plug-in module for geo-specific, physics-based, multi-sensor image generation support.
“We look forward to working with Aechelon Technology to upgrade the CH-53 trainer’s visual capabilities,” said Jeff Taylor, program manager at J.F. Taylor.
“It is, as always, a pleasure for Aechelon Technology to partner with J.F. Taylor, and we anticipate serving the CH-53 community and helping to enhance their training capability under this new program through continuous technology insertion and state of the art database commonality” said Javier Castellar, director of programs for Aechelon Technology.
