Tampa, Florida, October 1, 2008 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Aero Simulation Inc. (ASI) to provide an Image Generator and databases for the CH-46E APT upgrade in Okinawa, Japan.. The database development is to include the Horn of Africa and South East Asia foreign areas. ASI is the prime contractor for the CH-53E/CH-46E APT upgrades under NAVAIR’s Training System Contract II (TSC II).
Aechelon Technology has delivered its pC-NOVA™ v4.0 Image Generator for the CH-46E APT and is rapidly developing two very large databases, including an undisclosed number of airfields, landing zones, drop zones and urban areas, located within the Horn Of Africa and the South East Asia geographic areas.
Aechelon Technology is also producing a South West Asia visual database, including Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Hormuz, as part of the CH-53E APT Upgrade effort performed under this same ASI contract. Upon completion, the South West Asia, Horn of Africa and South East Asia databases will be installed on both the CH-53E and the CH-46E APT devices.
