San Francisco, Calif. — 7 September 2021 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a Firm Fixed Price, Definite Delivery, and Definite Quantity contract by Veraxx Engineering Corporation. This contract will support the U.S. Marine Corps Mixed Reality Image Generators for AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom Deployable Mission Rehearsal Trainers (DMRT), enabling full multi-spectral sensor cockpit configurations and associated hardware, software, and DoD Global Databases.
The systems integrate multiple Varjo® XR-3 Mixed Reality Head Mounted Display systems serving -simultaneously- two users within the same real/virtual aircraft cockpit. The Varjo headsets are tightly integrated into Aechelon’s solution, which includes both the OTW and all required sensor simulations on unmodified high fidelity multi-spectra databases.
Aechelon has delivered programs with VR and MR solutions for over 23 years, including undisclosed support for Varjo VR-1, XR-1, and XR-3 as well as Oculus, HTC, HoloChip, and see-through devices from JVC and SA Photonics. Aechelon has standardized XR Workstations products featuring NVIDIA® Quadro® with full OpenXR devices support.
The systems integrate a full resolution worldwide 3D visual and sensor database with extensive domestic and foreign areas of interest. This Global database is already deployed and being used on other DoD programs without the need of down-sampling, de-rating, or modification—thus ensuring complete correlation and commonality with other U.S. DoD devices also utilizing Aechelon Technology Image Generators, including all in-service U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B, CH-53K, CH-53E, UH-1N, AH-1Z, and unmanned FireScout devices ensuring both tactical and sensor correlation.
