SAN CARLOS, Calif., June 1, 2002 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced the award of a contract to
provide the complete visual system for US Marine Corp Air Station Cherry Point AV-8B RNAWST Trainer, Device 2F150B+, S/N4. The prime contractor, Indra Sistemas S.A., awarded the subcontract pursuant to US Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWC-TSD) Contract N61339-02-C-0061. The visual system will be delivered to Indra Sistemas’ Winter Park, FL facility for integration with the trainer.
The visual system features Aechelon Technology’s C-NOVATM software-based runtime engine for flight training applications and C-RADIANTTM plug-in module for geo-specific, multi-sensor image generation support, and includes a COTS image generator providing images for an eight channel L3 Link Simulation M2DART display system, a simulated NVG helmet-mounted display, Nav FLIR and weapons FLIR. Aechelon Technology will also provide an US East Coast database with two primary airfields, five secondary airfields and seventeen generic airfields, as well as a high definition target area and four CAL sites located within the 1024km x1024km gaming area. A corresponding materials map and radar database derived from the visual database multispectral imagerywill also be provided.

This will be the third complete visual system delivered by Aechelon Technology to Indra Sistemas, S.A. for the AV-8B Harrier; delivery is expected to commence toward the end of June 2002.
