SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 1, 2006 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Verraxx Engineering Corporation to provide the image generator and database generation system for the MV-22 Osprey Containerized Flight Training Device (CFTD) to be delivered to MCAS New River, North Carolina.
The image generator will render five channels selectable between OTW and NVG scenes, and a single-channel FLIR. The IG incorporates Aechelon Technology’s pC-NOVATM 3.5 software-based runtime engine for flight training applications and C-RADIANTTM plug-in module for physics-based, multi-sensor scene generation. The IG will integrate with the host via a CIGI 3.1 interface. Databases will be published from Government-furnished Navy Portable Source Initiative datasets and the Marine Corps Aviation Simulation Master Plan East Coast Training Environment. Aechelon Technology’s C-GENESISTM database generation system is fully NPSI compliant.
Chris Conrad, Veraxx Engineering Corporation Program Manager, said “Aechelon Technology offers the high end graphical performance to support the needs of the USMC warfighter. The pC-NOVA Image Generator has a rich set of features to support a superior level of training, without being dependent on any custom hardware.”
“We are looking forward to working with Veraxx Engineering Corporation and integrating with the Marine Corps Tactical Environment (TEN). The future of trainers is in these relocatable training devices, and we are pleased to be part of the MV-22 CFTD program,” said Stephen Gersuk, Aechelon Technology’s Director of Programs.
