Aechelon Technology announces NVIDIA QUADRO FX 3000 based pC-Nova (v2.0) Image Generation System

SAN CARLOS, California, (July 23, 2003 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it is incorporating the revolutionary new NVIDIA Quadro’ FX 3000 series of professional graphics solutions in its pC-NOVATM image generation system with immediate availability. Announced earlier this week by NVIDIA Corporation, the Quadro FX3000 combines new levels of vertex and fragment shader rendering performance with professional level genlock and framelock.

pC-NOVA transforms clusters of high-performance, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS ) PC systems into rock-solid 60Hz frame rate, high-resolution, multi-channel geo-specific image generators running unmodified Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP operating systems. Aechelon Technology delivers pC-NOVA image generators to the DoD and DoD prime contractors as fully integrated systems that include all necessary hardware and software, including spare nodes, runtime software, databases, database generation system (to modify the delivered, or create a new, database), documentation and integration tools, with interface software for several standard host-side ICDs.

‘We are very pleased to continue to push the limits for realism in visual simulation technology working with Aechelon Technology,’ said Jeff Brown, director of workstation product management at NVIDIA. ‘The combination of NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 and Quadro FX 3000G graphics with the real time performance and mission-critical reliability of pC-NOVA (v2.0) raises the bar for COTS image generation technology in simulation and training.’

‘The release of pC-NOVA (v2.0) is a milestone in our image generation product line,’ said John Quinn, CEO of Aechelon Technology. ‘With the new NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 series, pC-NOVA delivers enhanced fragment and vertex shader effects, and more detailed scene content, provides support for improved image quality at higher resolutions than before possible, and offers hardware genlock as a standard feature. This feature set has never before been available from a pure commodity graphics subsystem.’

New features of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 include:

Industry’s highest performance graphics memory’27.2 GB/sec. memory bandwidth, combined with 256MB of on board memory, drive large texture performance and high-resolution, full-screen anti-aliasing for large area geo-specific database support and excellent image quality.

Powerwall’Allows any application to be projected from a single system onto large surfaces. Users digitally specify overlap and blending for two projected images, even from inexpensive projectors.

Unparalleled vertex and fragment program performance for very high quality special effects, including full support for the CG programming language with the CineFX rendering architecture.

128 bit floating point precision graphics pipeline for unmatched visual quality.

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000G includes all NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 features plus:

Framelock’Allows professionals to link multiple systems in a cluster to scale power to problem size for life-sized visualization.

Genlock’Enables synchronization with standard signal formats and house-sync signals for video post-production, broadcast, compositing, and editing solutions.
