San Francisco, Calif. — 10 August 2021 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that it was awarded a Firm Fixed Price, Definite Delivery, and Definite Quantity contract by Veraxx Engineering Corporation. This contract will support the U.S. Navy with Three (3) CMV-22 Image Generators, three Instructor/ Debrief Stations, and associated hardware, software, and Global Databases to support the USN.
The CMV-22B is the Navy’s long-range/medium-lift element of the intra-theater aerial logistics capability; it fulfills the Joint Force Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC) time-critical logistics air connector requirements by transporting personnel, mail, and priority cargo from advance bases to the Seabase.
The CMV-22B Osprey is a variant of the MV-22B and replaces the C-2A Greyhound for the Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) mission. The Osprey is a tiltrotor V/STOL aircraft that can take off and land like a helicopter but transit as a turboprop aircraft.
The first two Image Generators were delivered to Veraxx in 2020; the third will be delivered in 2021. The system integrates a full resolution worldwide 3D visual and sensor database with extensive domestic and foreign areas of interest. This Global database is already deployed and being used on other DoD programs without the need of down-sampling, de-rating, or modification—thus ensuring complete correlation and commonality with other U.S. DoD devices also utilizing Aechelon Technology Image Generators, including all in-service U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B devices.
