Aechelon Technology Receives US Air Force Contract Award for 35-channel Image Generator and Databases at Hill Air Force Base

San Francisco, Calif., August 18, 2010 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that the Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command has awarded it a contract to provide image generators, databases and integration services for a F-16C simulator at the Human Engineering Development System (HEDS) facility at Hill Air Force Base, UT. Aechelon Technology will supply its new pC-NOVA™ v5.5 Image Generators for an F-16C simulator featuring a visual system with 30 channels providing Out-of-The-Window (OTW) and Night Vision Goggles (NVG) as well as Head-Mounted Cueing System (HMCS), in-cockpit radar, FLIR and electro-optical targeting pods. The system features radar integration of Camber RTK with per-pixel correlated direct database paging. Aechelon Technology will also provide multi-spectral databases, moving models, airfields and undisclosed foreign areas of interest.

US Air Force Human Engineering Development System (HEDS) is part of the Software Engineering Division (MAS) located at the Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC), Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Among other responsibilities, MAS supports all Operational Flight Program (OFP) modifications to the F-16 C/D aircraft. HEDS is responsible for prototyping the OFP changes and then showing these prototypes in a flight simulator to pilots and others that make decisions about the OFP upgrades.
