Aechelon Technology’s GeForce FX-based pC-NOVA Accepted for Use in NAVAIR’s Manned Flight Simulator Lab’s Advanced Targeting Pod and Radar Simulation Development

SAN CARLOS, Calif., May 19, 2003 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today the acceptance of its first GeForce FX-based pC-NOVATM image generator (two sensor channels and one radar channel) by J.F. Taylor, Inc. for use in NAVAIR’s Manned Flight Simulator Lab, NAS Patuxent River, MD. The image generator was delivered with a Litening Pod II sensor host and the Camber Radar Toolkit runtime license for an APG-65 radar simulation; the delivery includes multiple, large-area (>1,024km x 1,024km), geo-specific visual databases.
This is the first delivery of pC-NOVA based on nVidia’s GeForce FX graphics technology and retains the 1U node form factor. The pC-NOVA image generator supports all of the features of Aechelon Technology’s C-NOVATM software-based runtime engine for flight training applications, and uses the same databases and ICDs. pC-NOVA uses no custom parts and is comprised of strictly commodity PC components.
