Aechelon Technology’s pC-Nova Accepted in Air Force Research Lab Distributed Mission Operations Testbed

SAN CARLOS, Calif., September 20, 2004 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today the
acceptance of four pC-NOVA‘ Image Generators for use in the Air Force Research Laboratory’s
Distributed Mission Operations Testbed at Mesa Research Site, AZ. Two of the image generators
provide two sensor channels each, to augment existing SGI Onyx visual image generators. The other
two each provide eight out-the-window channels and two sensor channels. The delivery also includes
Aechelon Technology’s US Southwest and US East Coast databases, which support fully correlated
out-the-window and sensors scenes throughout the million square kilometer extents of each database.

“This image generator upgrade will enable multi-ship NVG training in the Distributed Mission
Operations Testbed and is capable of supporting future sensor simulatons,” said Dr. Elizabeth Martin,
Director of the Night Vision Device Training Program.

The pC-NOVA image generator supports all of the features of Aechelon Technology’s C-NOVA
software-based runtime engine for flight training applications, and uses the same databases and host
computer interfaces. pC-NOVA uses no custom parts and is comprised entirely of commodity PC
components.
