Aechelon Technology’s pC-NOVA Serial #10 Accepted for Use in NAVAIR’s Manned Flight Simulator Lab Operations

SAN CARLOS, Calif., April 10, 2003 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announces the acceptance of pC-Nova Image Generator, Serial #10 (six channels OTW) by J.F. Taylor, Inc. for use in NAVAIRs Manned Flight Simulator Lab, NAS Patuxent River, MD.

The image generator was installed, integrated and accepted in less than one week; the delivery includes multiple, large-area (>1,024km x 1,024km), geo-specific visual databases.
The pC-NOVATM image generator supports all of the features of Aechelon Technology’s C-NOVATM software-based runtime engine for flight training applications, and uses the same databases and ICDs. pC-NOVA uses no custom parts and is comprised of strictly commodity PC components.
About Manned Flight Simulator

NAVAIRS Manned Flight Simulator (MFS) is part of the Air Combat Environment Test and Evaluation Facility (ACETEF), NAS Pax River. Its primary role is to provide high-fidelity simulation systems in support of NAVAIRs RDT&E efforts. MFS is a flight and system simulation facility capable of supporting all categories of military and non-military aircraft. The simulations systems combine high-fidelity flight dynamics models, aircraft flight control hardware, and avionic systems using 8 roll-in, roll-out cockpits and 8 various high-fidelity display systems. MFS currently uses 3 (6) channel pC-NOVA Image Generators and (1) C-NOVA runtime engine on an Onyx 3400 to provide out-the-window graphics.
