San Francisco, Calif. — 12 July 2022 — Aechelon Technology, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Air Force awarded a contract for advanced Mixed Reality Systems to Aechelon to support the 445th Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base.
Aechelon Technology will supply its state-of-the-art Mixed Reality Workstations, a true multi-spectral compact image generator driving Varjo’s XR-3 Mixed Reality Head Mounted Display at high rate and very low latency with NVIDIA Professional Series of GPUs.
The system integrates a full resolution, worldwide 3D visual and sensor database with extensive domestic and foreign areas of interest. This Global database is already deployed and being used on other DoD programs without the need of down-sampling, de-rating, or modification—thus ensuring complete correlation and commonality with other U.S. DoD devices also utilizing Aechelon Technology Image Generators.

The Electronic Warfare Group’s (EWG) 445th Test Squadron at the Avionics Test and Integration Complex (ATIC) operates and maintains test facilities and capabilities for a wide spectrum of electronic warfare (EW) and information operations (IO) systems. The Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF), a uniquely large anechoic chamber, provides a comprehensive, robust and scalable radio frequency (RF) test and evaluation (T&E) infrastructure and capability to ensure weapons system survivability and mission effectiveness for the DoD, industry (military and commercial) and our allies.
